Summary
This module places the learner inside the Risk Response Unit... realistic scenarios and character-led interactions. The content focuses on decision-making under pressure, encouraging active engagement rather than passive progression.
Built in Articulate Rise with Storyline blocks embedded in, the design supports a wider suite of modules, with consistent theming, tone and structure.
Feedback was highly positive, with one learner describing it as “the best learning I have done in 15 years”.
Challenge
The challenge was to move beyond traditional learning and create something that felt realistic and engaging without overwhelming the learner. The Risk Response Unit needed to feel believable, with scenarios that held attention while still delivering clear learning outcomes.
It also needed to work as part of a scalable concept, requiring a consistent design approach that could carry across future modules.
Solution
A narrative led piece used to guide learners through, with characters providing context and continuity throughout. Interactions are tied to real life scenarios and examples, allowing context and outcomes to feel relevant.
The design balances immersion with clarity, using layout, pacing and visual cues to support accessibility. A look and feel was established to ensure consistency across any future modules.
